For the first time in years there was no FICC jury at this year’s edition of the Czech national film festival in Plzen. However, at it's closing ceremony on 29 April 2007, the Festival of Czech Cinema awarded the Prize for an outstanding support of Czech cinema to former FICC vice president Robert Richter, Switzerland.

According to festival director Ivan Jáchim, the Award was given to Robert Richter for his merits as a delegate of the San Sebastián International Film Festival (Spain), and as a former vice president of the International Federation of Film Societies.

Richter was a vice president and a leading force of the International Federation for a long period from the early nineties and lead the organization into the Twentyfirst Century.

Richter lives in Bern and is still active within the Swiss organization of film societies and non-profit cinemas, Cinelibre. He has also a long career as a film journalist and critic and is one of few European experts on Iranian cinema.
