Including a Programme of Prize winning "Don Quijote" films from international film festivals and a Children's programme of films.
From this year the Don Quijote winners section will be competitive and each delegate will have right to vote to decide the awards.
Even this year the IFFS will award a Film Director important according the Film Societies/Cine Clubs point of view.
Cineclub New Network: like last year it wants to screen fiction and documentary films mostly short, of filmakers linked in some way to film clubs, that show some particular aspect of each Country in a way the usual news channels don't tell us. The film must be in digital format and with english subtitles. This year we would like to have a particular focus on Human Rights according every point of view! Therefore film with this particular subject will be cordially welcome!
Each Country where film clubs (Film Societies or Cine Clubs) exists or are going to be created, is entitled to select a film made in the way above descibed.

The deadline for sending this form by e mail is 5th May.
The films may be sent by mail at Federazione Italiana dei Circoli del Cinema via Nomentana 427 00162 Roma Italy or may be carried by the delegates themselves coming to attend the Festival.
A film will be officially in the Festival program only after a letter of confirmation sent by the Festival direction.

Film Market for Film Societies and Non Profit Cinemas
After seven editions, the International Festival of Film Societies has become an essential international event for the cultural exhibition area. The 8th edition of the festival will take place from 12th to 17th June 2006 in the Southern Italian city of Matera. The festival is organised by the Federazione Italiana dei Circoli del Cinema (Italian Federation of Film Societies) in cooperation with the International Federation of Film Societies, FICC/IFFS.
The festival is pleased to inform you, that all member federations of FICC/IFFS and Federations of Film Societies or single film societies where a Federation doesn't exist are invited to attend this year's edition. Please look at the conditions of the invitations extended by the festival under "Invitations on Offer".
The festival offers a wide selection of films. This selection carefully follows the programme criteria of cultural exhibition offered to audiences worldwide through film societies and non profit cinemas. The festival is both a film market and a meeting point. As a film market, the festival promotes films which are to be considered by film societies and non profit cinemas. As a meeting point it offers various possibilities to exchange ideas and to develop cooperation.
THE PRESIDENT OF THE FICC/IFFS MR GIANNI AMELIO SHOULD ATTEND THE FESTIVAL.The conditions of the invitation are as in previous years that is:Accommodation from 12th to 17th June and meals for one delegate from each federation and in addition every member of the Executive Committee.
For delegates from Europe a travel contribution of 210 Euros will be made by the Festival. For delegates from outside Europe and special guests from countries such as Estonia and the Ukraine, organisers of Children's section etc travel expenses will be guaranteed. These special guests will receive a letter of invitation directly from the Festival.
How to get there
Matera is very near to Bari airport offering several connecting flights per day from Milan, Rome and sveral international cities. This airport is in International IATA code BRI; the train station four hours from Rome with the fastest train is called Bari Centrale. The Higway Roma-Napoli-Bari is recommended if you wish to come by car.
